Bullied Boy Casey Heynes FULL INTERVIEW

21 Mar

If you’ve seen the video of Australian school kid Casey Heynes giving the “you-wouldn’t-like-me-when-I’m-angry” treatment to an apparent bully half his size, you probably had the same reaction most people had: way to go, standing up to that bully. Quibble all you want about whether Casey overreacted, should have done things differently, etc. It doesn’t look like Casey had time for such an intellectual, reasoned discussion.

Ultimate Loyalty: Japanese Dog Refuses to Leave Injured Friend Behind

18 Mar

Emerging coverage from Japan offers a moving example of ultimate dog loyalty, and clearly illustrates the challenges faced by animal victims of the earthquake and tsunami.

The dogs were picked up after the video was filmed, and are in the care of a local shelter. Updates and pics will be here in the coming days: http://www.facebook.com/lifewithdogs *update will post on FB Friday 3-18 10am (good news)
Translation of conversation in video:
We are in Arahama area. Looks like there is a dog. There is a dog. He looks tired and dirty. He must have been caught in the tsunami. He looks very dirty.

He has a collar. He must be someone’s pet. He has a silver collar. He is shaking. He seems very afraid.

Oh, there is another dog. I wonder if he is dead.

Where?

Right there. There is another dog right next to the one sitting down. He is not moving. I wonder. I wonder if he is alright.

The dog is protecting him.

Yes. He is protecting the dog. That is why he did not want us to approach them. He was trying to keep us at bay.

I can’t watch this. This is a very difficult to watch.

Oh. Look. He is moving. He is alive. I am so happy to see that he is alive.

Yes! Yes! He is alive.

He looks to be weakened. We need to them to be rescued soon. We really want them rescued soon.

Oh good. He’s getting up.

It is amazing how they survived the tremendous earthquake and tsunami. It’s just amazing that they survived through this all.

Happy St.Patty’s Day!

17 Mar

Just in case you’re wondering!

Saint Patrick’s Day (Irish: Lá Fhéile Pádraig) is a religious holiday celebrated internationally on 17 March. It is named after Saint Patrick (c. AD 387–461), the most commonly recognized of the patron saints of Ireland. It is observed by the Roman Catholic Church, the Anglican Communion (especially the Church of Ireland), the Eastern Orthodox Church and Lutherans. Saint Patrick’s Day was made an official feast day in the early 17th century, and has gradually become a celebration of Irish culture in general.

The day is generally characterized by the attendance of church services, wearing of green attire (especially shamrocks), and the lifting of Lenten restrictions on fasting and drinking, which is often proscribed during the rest of the season.

Saint Patrick’s Day is a public holiday in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Newfoundland and Labrador and in Montserrat. It is also widely celebrated by the Irish diaspora, especially in places such as the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, Argentina, Australia, and New Zealand, among others.

Sexy Model Orit Fox Bitten on Boob by snake

16 Mar

The snake died of silicone poisoning hours after biting into a model’s breast implant.
Man so what is the silicone doing to humans? And I am really not saying this to be mean but is she a pornstar?

UPDATE: Wallace issued an apology Monday, saying “I cannot explain what possessed me to approach the subject as I did, and if I could undo it, I would.” See more here.

Self-identified UCLA student Alexandra Wallace has gained national notoriety — and more than 1,000,000 views — for posting a YouTube video which shows her in a 3-minute long tirade against Asian students.

In the clip, called “Asians in the Library,” Wallace says the “hordes of Asians” at UCLA lack American manners. She also mocks their speech and faults them for calling family in the wake of the tsunami. “I swear they’re going through their whole families just checking on everybody from the tsunami thing,” she said.

She continues:

All the Asian people that live in all the apartments around me…and everybody that they know that they brought along from Asia with them comes here on the weekends to do their laundry, buy their groceries, and cook their food for the week.

It’s seriously without fail, you will always see old Asian people running around this apartment complex every weekend. That’s what they do. They don’t teach their kids to fend for themselves…

Hi. In America we do not talk on our cell phones in the library…I’ll be typing away furiously, blah blah blah, and then all of the sudden, when I’m about to, like, reach an epiphany, over here from somewhere, ‘OHH Ching chong ling long ting tong? OHH’

In wake of Japan’s rising death toll: How you can help – Huntsville healthy living | Examiner.com

14 Mar

Reports Monday say that 1000 bodies washed up on the coastline of Miyagi Perfecture in northern Japan. According to the Associated Press, this discovery raised the official death toll to about 2,800. Sadly, the Miyagi police chief has said that more than 10,000 people are estimated to have died in his province alone, which has a population of 2.3 million.

Meanwhile, millions of survivors are struggling to do just that – survive – with no food, water or heat. That poses its own share of obvious health problems, on top of the health fears related to a possible nuclear meltdown.

Many of us may feel helpless, but we can make a difference by making charitable donations to established organizations known for effectively responding to crises like Friday’s earthquake and tsunami.

A few nonprofits you may want to consider with your Japan-focused gifts:

Our thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by this tragedy.

Our immediate priority is the safety of the people and communities in the affected areas. We remind everyone who lives in the region to monitor their local news for instructions from their state and local officials and if told to evacuate – evacuate.

Lifetime Pulls Disturbing Amanda Knox Video

19 Feb

“Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy” poses the question of whether Knox (Hayden Panettiere), the Seattle honors student accused of murdering her college roommate Meredith Kercher (Amanda Fernando Stevens) in 2007 with her boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito (Paolo Romio) and acquaintance Rudy Guede (Djibril Kébé), actually committed the crime or was herself a victim. Referred to as “Foxy Knoxy” by her Italian prosecutor, Guiliani Mignini (Vincent Riotta), and the press, Knox was painted as an oversexed, remorseless killer during her two-year trial leading up to her conviction and subsequent sentencing to 26 years in jail. Guiliano Mignini – VINCENT RIOTTA
Raffaele Sollecito – PAOLO ROMIO
Edda Mellas – MARCIA GAY HARDEN
Rudy Guede – DJIBRIL KÉBÉ
Meredith Kercher – AMANDA FERNANDO STEVENS
Curt Knox – CLIVE WALTON

Update: Lifetime has posted a new sanitized trailer. The victim is clothed this time. Rudy and Raffaele in knife scene that never occurred. Also, Hayden Panettiere confirms that Amanda Knox’s Family gave her permission to visit their daughter in jail, but the starlet considered the one-hour drive to Capanne Prison too arduous while filming in Rome.

Lifetime TV has yanked the graphic trailer for its Amanda Knox TV flick. This follows international outrage over half-naked portrayals of victim Meredith Kercher and slashing scenes starring Knox, whose murder conviction is on appeal. First, Lifetime removed the video from the film’s official site.  Then it disappeared on YouTube.

Lifetime remains in legal hot water. It has only until Feb. 10 to escape legal action by Amanda Knox’s lawyers. They want to sequester the film, calling it defamatory and prejudicial. Indeed, the stabbing scene sickened Knox. Her lawyers protested the timing. It’s set to debut Feb. 21, yet only today did independent experts start retesting the DNA evidence, a move that could overturn Knox’s 26-year sentence. Win or lose, she’ll get an automatic appeal to the Supreme Court of Italy. Legally, she is innocent, which puts Lifetime in an unhappy legal position.

“Italian police say the DNA it collected in the Knox case is enough to prove that Knox, Rudy Guede and Sollicito are guilty of murder,” writes Anthony Ventre of Yahoo News. “The declaration was enough to convince film director Robert Dornhelm to depict Knox as the feckless cherub of death who stabbed Meredith Kercher to death so Rudy could have sex with her.”

Lifetime has accomplished the impossible, offending every side in the international fisticuffs called the Amanda Knox case. Lawyers for the victim, for Amanda’s ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito and Rudy Guede all oppose the film. Even Truman Capote waited out the appeals process before he wrote In Cold Blood, his iconic bestseller.

Pure fiction: Lovers act sinister at a prayer vigil they didn’t attend.

ABC has the best video on the Lifetime controversy (see below), with a priceless quote from Hayden Pantierre (starring as Knox), who claims the movie is “pretty factual” and won’t disturb anyone.

Even the short trailer is riddled with errors and crass inventions. It claims to be “based on a true story,” not a smart legal move for Lifetime. One can only imagine what the full-length movie is like, given the fabrications in the 2-minute video:

1. We see Amanda and Raffaele looking sneaky at Meredith’s candelight vigil, but they were never there. Nor were Meredith’s closest British friends nor her other roommates.

2. Lifetime stripped the victim down to bra and panties for the knife attack, although she was fully dressed, as if she’d just entered the house. Rudy’s DNA was found on her jacket sleeve.

3. Meredith never fondled drifter Rudy, but is shown in a comfy bed, caressing him. His bloody handprint was found on a pillow under her body; his DNA was on her purse and body. No sign of Amanda was found in the murder room.

Picture
Lifetime expanded the murder room to play out a supposed 4-person orgy–and added a dresser. Here six investigators examine evidence in a room that real-life cops examined in pairs and found cramped. And where’s the bed and other missing furniture?

4. The murder room is nearly 3 feet wider than in reality, the better to depict a torrid 4-way sex scene, a group stabbing, and girl-on-girl violence. In short, the prosecution’s bizarre, unproven theory. You can see the stabbing photo that upset Knox here.

Picture
Don’t try this in Perugia: November picnic.Brrrr.

5. Amanda did not wave to reporters coming into court, nor did she show her cleavage, ala Hayden in every scene.

6. Amanda and Raffaele knew each other only six days. They never picnicked in frigid Perugia, an unintentionally funny moment in the video.

7. The trailer posits a new crime theory–Meredith and her three attackers struggling on the floor. Where’s the DNA from Rudy, Amanda, and Raffaele if that occurred?via SeattlePi

I just happen to stumble upon a trailer fro this movie while watching Bones on Hulu. I researched this case afterwards and am pretty excited to see this movie. The way Knox was portrayed by the media was pretty harsh. They made her seem like a psycho. Throughout the entire case she had this awkwardly cheery disposition. It was a little odd. The movie should shed more light on what she was going through but don’t look for many facts from the trial. Since it was a fairly recent case, having concluded only in 2009, there is still evidence being reexamined.  Amanda Knox filed for an appeal in late December of 2010. The verdict of her appeal will be released sometime this spring. I am sure that that will be referenced at the end of the Lifetime film. So what do you think about Amanda? Guilty or Innocent? Sound off in the comments.Be sure to look at the hyper-linked sections as they provide more insight on the controversy surrounding this film.                                                                                                              ~ Motormouth
