Jovani Fans can Now Vote for their Favorite Model on Facebook

23 Mar

The long-time designer of elegant women’s evening wear and glamorous prom dresses has distinguished itself as a top name with a strong and loyal following. Always coming up with new and exhilarating ways to get their fans wound up, Jovani Fashions has done it once again with its “Win at Least $15,000 Modeling Contract with Jovani” contest. Within just one hour of posting photos of the top 100 semi-finalists onto their Facebook page, the fashion company saw its fan base increase by over 3,000 fanatical people eager to get their vote in.

After weeks of receiving thousands upon thousands of applications from girls all over the country, Jovani narrowed down their search for the perfect model yesterday. All 100 semi-finalists will receive an official tote bag and exclusive Jovani watch. But that’s not all—the 10 girls with most Facebook votes/“likes” by June 7th, the contest end date, will receive a free pair of Jovani shoes and prom dress of their choice. How’s that for excitement?

Now, the hardest task for these 16 to 19 year old semi-finalists will be to round up all their friends and family members to get them to “vote” for their photo on Facebook. Never before has Jovani held a contest with so many gorgeous girls—and it’s already looking to be highly competitive. But not to worry, a great feature of this contest is that fans have until June 7 to get all their votes in.

Even non-friends and non-family members have been signing onto Facebook to get in on all of the action. Ultimately, these voters will share in the process of choosing the winner of the Jovani modeling contract. The fashion house has decided to put power into the hands of their fan base in helping to eliminate all but 10 girls, who will then move on to the next round and be in the running to win the grand prize.

The winning girl will receive a long-standing contract with Jovani to model for upcoming special occasion catalogues and national market shows that will be worth at least $15,000. Not to mention, she will be gifted fabulous prizes and will be able to partake in future modeling opportunities for Jovani. All fashion followers can visit http://www.JOVANI.com for more contest details and instructions on how to vote.

Spring Styles for your body type

18 Mar

1.       Hourglass figures are round and curvy. They are considered the dream figure to have and many men actually prefer a woman with curves. An hourglass shaped woman has a well-defined waistline and fuller hips and bust. Their shoulders and hips are equal in width. Woman with hourglass shapes can look sultry and seductive or classy and elegant, depending on what they wear and by dressing in the most flattering way for their particular shape.

2. When dressing to flatter your rectangle shaped figure, your main challenges will be to maintain the figure balance that you already have and create the illusion of a defined waistline so that you look more like the hourglass ideal. Avoid styles, such as shifts or trapeze dresses, that hide your shape. The exception would be for women who wear extra-small sizes, such as 00P or 0P, and who want to wear trendy trapeze or straight shift dresses or tops. You can get away with these styles because of your tiny size.

3.  Slimmer on the top and rounder on the bottom? Join the pear-shaped club. Fitting into the fruit-figure category may be common, but fitting into trendy styles needn’t be a challenge, especially with these handy style tips from Charla Krupp, author of “How to Never Look Fat Again,” and Sam Saboura, fashion guru and “My Body, My Style” host. “The situation with the pear shape is that you want the party and all the activity on the upper part of your body,” Krupp tells StyleList. “You want all the color, the jazz, the fun fabric and the pattern on top,” to draw the eye upward, while toning down the bottom half.

4. Do you have broad shoulders and/or a full bust and small hips and thighs? If so, then you have an inverted triangle shaped figure type. Inverted triangle figures can be any size; it’s the shape that determines the inverted triangle figure type. Although the inverted triangle shape is the least common petite figure type, this shape is the envy of others because a full bust and wide shoulders bring emphasis to the top of the figure, rather than the hips and thighs. If you have an inverted triangle shaped figure, your first consideration in selecting a dress is to make sure that it fits well in the bust. Avoid dresses that pull across the bust because that makes for an unflattering appearance. Even if a dress that fits well in the bust is too big in the hips, it can be taken in if necessary. There are three types of styles that work especially well for short women who have inverted triangle shaped figures:

  • Wrap Dresses Wrap dresses, which form V-necklines, work well for the inverted triangle figure type. Avoid puffed sleeves and ruffles on a wrap dress so that the top won’t look larger.
  • Sheath Dresses with Pegged Skirts A well-fitting sheath dress with a pegged skirt to make hips appear a bit more in balance with broad shoulders is another workable style for the petite woman who has an inverted triangle shaped figure.
  • Dresses with Hip Detail Dresses with hip detail, such as a ruffle or pockets, also put more emphasis on hips and help balance the shape of an inverted triangle figure so that it looks more like an hourglass.

DENIM!! Denim jackets, denim shirts, denim shoes, denim whatever.  I love it all!  I especially love the vintage ones & bleached ones. The best thing about denim is you are free to create any style you like! Rip it, bleach it, jewel it, tear it, stress it and we all know denim looks best with age, so wear it out.
